Friday 24 April
The Annual General Meeting will be held at the Bishop’s Palace, Hereford, HR4 9BL at 7pm.
Following the meeting, there will be a buffet supper and Bridget Ashton will speak about her book ‘My Mother and the Curate: two diaries of life in Hay in 1953 and 1870’.
Saturday 25 April
At the Pilgrim Hotel, Much Birch HR2 8HJ
Morning: 10 for 10:30 The Kilvert Seminar. Gary Crook of Snodhill Castle Preservation Trust will talk about recent archaeological discoveries at the Castle.
Afternoon: We will visit Clyro and Bettws Chapel.
Evening: 7 for 7:30 The Kilvert Society Annual Dinner.
Wednesday 24 June
We will visit Rhosgoch Mill (Vol 1, p 67-9)
Wednesday 30 September
We will visit Much Marcle where Kilvert was best man to Andrew Pope (Vol 3, p77-8), including seeing the church and the old vicarage where Kilvert stayed.
Non-members are welcome to join us on excursions. Please contact kilvertsociety@gmail.com for details of meeting place and catering arrangements. Lunches and teas, if arranged, are paid for individually on the day.
